buycryptopunks.com is a read-only viewer for both CryptoPunks contracts. It does not custody assets, hold funds, or execute transactions. Every action button links out to the marketplace that handles it natively.

V1 vs V2 — the short version

When Larva Labs launched CryptoPunks in June 2017, the marketplace contract had a bug: buyers got refunded in the same transaction they bought a punk, so sellers were never paid. A fixed V2 was deployed days later and the V1 tokens were considered non-tradeable for years. In 2022 the community built an ERC-721 wrapper that gave V1 punks a legitimate trading path again.

Both contracts share the same 10,000 punks — same images, same attributes — but ownership and marketplaces are independent. V1 #1234 and V2 #1234 can have different owners, different listings, and different floor prices. This viewer treats them as two faces of the same punk and lets you toggle between them on every detail page.
